Charity Worker Visa is a sub category of Temporary worker Visa. This visa allows a person to come the UK and carry unpaid voluntary work.
This visa can be given for up to 12 months or the time given in the certificate of sponsorship and additional 14 days, whichever is shorter of the two. If you plan to work more than 12 months you would need to consider other work visa routes.
If you come to the UK on charity worker visa, you can only do unpaid voluntary work. You can also study or take another job. However, the limitation is that you can not get paid for the work you do. You can also not claim public funds.
To qualify for this visa you need to apply for a job which is unpaid and voluntary job. This means that job can not be offered at waged or salaried rate. This work doesn’t include roles in administration,
retail, fund raising or the maintenance of the charity office or assets.
The following requirements also needs to be met:
• Be over the age of 18.
• Holds a certificate of sponsorship from UK based organization which holds a valid sponsor license.
• Be financially able to support yourself. Need to have at least £1,270.00 in the bank.
If you intend to apply for any visa route to come to the UK, we recommend you to contact us so that
we can guide you through the process. Visa applications sometime can be very complex and doing a
mistake or omitting even a small detail can result in visa refusal. To avoid refusal, we work hard
while working for you and write a letter explaining your situation and highlight the laws that can benefit your application.
