In exceptional circumstances, you can apply to for a permission to come and reside in the UK with British person or person with settled status as the parent, grandparent, sibling or adult child.
To be eligible for this route one of the following must also apply to the relative:
1. They’re a British or Irish citizen
2. They’ve settled in the UK – for example, they have indefinite leave to remain, settled status or proof of permanent residence
3. They’re from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and have pre-settled status – they must have started living in the UK before 1 January 2021
4. They have refugee status or humanitarian protection in the UK If the applicant is the sponsor’s parent or grandparent they must not be in a subsisting relationship with a partner unless that partner is also the sponsor’s parent or grandparent and is applying for
entry clearance at the same time as the applicant.
You need long-term care to do every day personal and household tasks because of illness, disability or your age.
1. The care you need is not available or affordable in the country you live in.
2. The person you’ll be joining in the uk will be able to support, accommodate and care for you without claiming public funds for at least 5 years.
3. You’re 18 or over.
